Firefly – 2.1kW Table-Top Halogen Infrared Patio Heater with Wood Effect Base Review
If you’ve got a little bit of extra cash to spend on a stylish heater, then we’d recommend this heater from Firefly. The wood effect was so convincing we had to make sure it was brushed stainless steel and not the genuine article!
While this heater has the same specifications as the Firefly 2.1kW Table Top Heater with Rattan Effect, it’s £30 to £35 cheaper! So if rattan isn’t your thing, take a look at this.
Small but mighty. This table-top heaters will heat an area up to 9sqm (95sqft) with ease. With 7165 BTUs of output, you won’t struggle to keep warm with one of these on the table, regardless of whether you’re indoors or outdoors.
Bulb Life & Heating Type
These clear halogen infrared heating elements are bright! They’re also rated for up to 5000 hours. So you won’t need a replacement anytime soon.
Power Settings & Specifics
The standard three power setting combo, 900W / 1200W / 2100W. Great for all seasons.
Supplied with a 3 metre power cord.
Perfect for commercial and home users that don’t want to sacrifice table space to keep warm.
Firefly have released this heater with two effects. Oak & Beech Wood. At the time of review, the Oak effect was £5 dearer than the beech effect. When you’re spending nearly £100 on a heater, don’t get he cheaper one if you really want the oak effect.
With a weighted base and total weight of 7.9kg, this miniature heater won’t be taking flight any time soon.

We believe this heater has a place in any home, and its unique style makes it an attractive purchase to commercial users in the restaurant, bar or cafe industries.
Assuming a full bulb life of at least 5,000 hours, this heater will cost you just 0.019p per hour to run before electricity!
How much does this Firefly 2.1kW Table-Top Infrared Patio Heater cost to run?
The average cost per kWh in the U.K is currently 14.7 pence. Our hourly usage can be calculated as follows.
Heater running costs:
Full Power (2100W) – 2.1kW x 1 hour = 2.1 kWh x 14.7p = 30.87p (per hour)
Medium Power (1200W) – 1.2kW x 1 hour = 1.2kWh x 14.7p = 17.64p (per hour)
Low Power (900W) – 0.9kW x 1 hour = 0.9kWh x 14.7p = 13.23p (per hour)
Assuming we were to use this heater for 2 hours a night every night.
On full power (2.1kW or 2100W) our monthly electric bill will be £18.52
On medium power (1.2kW or 1200W) our monthly electric bill will be £10.58
On low power (0.9kW or 900W) our monthly electric bill will be £7.94
Firefly claim a 12.6p per hour running cost, which isn’t too far off the mark on low power, but this is of course dependent on your providers cost per kWh.

We loved the rattan effect heater that Firefly have to offer, so it makes sense that we love this heater just as much (if not more, seeing as it’s cheaper!).
You can’t go wrong with Firefly and with an average rating of 5 stars out of 5 with 2 amazon reviews, it seems fitting that we give it the same rating.
