Futura Deluxe 2kW Wall Mounted Patio Heater

Futura Deluxe 2kW Patio Heater Review

We’ve already reviewed the 2.5kW Futura Deluxe but today we’re looking at the smaller and more affordable 2000W Futura Deluxe.

Futura Deluxe – 2kW Weatherproof Wall Mounted Weatherproof Patio Heater Review

This heater is suitable for both home and commercial users and comes with a handy remote control. For just £89.99 *check latest price* this heater offers a large area of heat coverage and features galore. Is it worth the money though? Keep reading to find out.

Heating Area

This single wide infrared element claims the same heat coverage as the larger 2.5kW heater. We don’t doubt the ability to cover 25sqm as the Veito S2000 claims the same coverage area with the same 2kW of power consumption.

What we’re confused about is why the more powerful heater doesn’t have 30sqm of coverage?

Bulb Life & Heating Type

With a claimed 5,000 bulb life you won’t need these infrared heating elements anytime soon. Assuming an average usage of 2 hours per day, you should get nearly 7 years of life before needing to buy a new unit!

The added benefit of buying electric over gas is that they are substantially more efficient at heating surfaces via radiant heat, rather than convective heat, which wastes energy heating up the air around it.

Power Settings & Specifics

This heater has 3 power settings, 750W / 1000W / 2000W.

We’re big fans of heaters that come with adjustable power settings, it offers the user the flexibility to control how much heat they want, saving money and the environment!

Unfortunately, the power cord is only 1.5m long – this can be problematic if you don’t have a power socket nearby.

Weighing just 2kg you can hang this heater almost anywhere. Please install it more than 50cm from the ceiling to prevent unwanted fires.

The Futura Deluxe measures up at 63cm x 15cm x 12cm – nearly half the size of the 2.5kW. So if you’re looking for a space saving heater with phenomenal coverage, this is it!

It has a futuristic style but is quite bland. As with its bigger brother, you’re buying this heater for practicality, not aesthetic appeal.

Features & Extras

The Futura Deluxe 2kW comes with a remote control and hanging brackets. An absolute must have for wall mounted heaters that don’t have easy access.

This heater also comes with a 2-year guarantee – this is impressive as most heaters come with a 1 years guarantee or warranty. Considering the meagre price of this unit, we think it’s worth every penny!

Weatherproof Rating

These heaters offer superior weatherproof protection for both indoor and outdoor installation.

Solid rating 6 – complete protection from dust and touch.

Liquid rating 5 – this heater is protected from low powered water jets from all directions.

This rating makes it suitable for installation in any location. Whether in a commercial location or as an alternative heater for the bathroom!

Suitable For

Futura state that this heater is great for bars, restaurants, terraces, gardens, patios, balconies, decking, summer houses, gazebos, garages, workshops and much more! We’d like to add the ability to install this within the bathroom or any wet room due to the superior weatherproof protection it offers.

Ideal for commercial or home users alike.

How much does the Futura 2kW Patio Heater cost to run?

The manufacturers claim a running cost of 25p per hour. We’ve done the exact math below to see whether these claims are true!

Heater running costs:

Full Power (2000W) – 2.0kW x 1 hour = 2.0 kWh x 14.7p = 29.4p (per hour)
Medium Power (1000W) – 1.0kW x 1 hour = 1.0kWh x 14.7p = 14.7p (per hour)
Low Power (750W) –
0.75kW x 1 hour = 0.75kWh x 14.7p = 11.025p (per hour)

Assuming we were to use this heater for 2 hours a night every night.

On full power (2.kW or 2000W) our monthly electric bill will be £17.64
On medium power (1.0kW or 1000W) our monthly electric bill will be £8.82
On low power (0.75kW or 750W) our monthly electric bill will be £6.615

Not far off the mark. This is entirely dependent on what you’re paying for electricity as well!

Purchase Cost

    Running Costs

            • Superior Heat Coverage
            • Weatherproof (IP65)
            • Cheap to Run
            • Affordable

            • Short Power Cable (1.5m)

We love this heater just as much as the 2.5kW Futura Deluxe. It’s slightly cheaper but supposedly offers the same level of heat coverage.

As with the 2.5kW version, the power cable length is what lets it down.
