Futura Deluxe – 2.5kW Wall Mounted Weatherproof Patio Heater Review
Futura have released a simple but powerful wall mounted patio heater that is suited to both home and commercial users! With an average rating of 4.2 out of 5 based on 14 customer reviews
We’re here to put it through its paces and see just what this heater can do for you.
With dual infrared elements and a consumption rate of up to 2500W we expected this heater to be able to heat a fairly large area, but we were stunned at the sheer size of heat coverage! Offering heat for an area up to 25sqm (270sqft) – most home users won’t necessarily need this much heat coverage, but for commercial users this is an absolute must buy. Especially at a price of £124.95 (21st September 2017) – Hover for latest price.back to menu ↑
Bulb Life & Heating Type
These infrared heating elements will last at least 5000 hours each – infrared heaters are great for heating surfaces and energy saving as you’re not wasting money trying to heat up the air around the heaters, but heating rather they work by heating surfaces directly.back to menu ↑
Power Settings & Specifics
This heater has 3 power settings, 800W / 1600W / 2500W. This offers users complete control over the amount of heat you want. On warmer nights it makes sense to use the low power setting, whereas you can really crank up the juice on colder winter nights and keep patrons drinking into the late hours!
The power cord is only 1.5m long – so do make sure you’ve got a plug socket nearby.
It’s fairly light at 4kg and can be hung in gazebos and tents etc, just make sure it’s installed more than 50cm from the ceiling to prevent unwanted fires.back to menu ↑
The Futura Deluxe measures up at 95cm x 15cm x 12cm – so it’s quite small considering the sheer amount of heat and coverage it offers.
It’s not the prettiest patio heater on the market, available in silver only, but you’re paying for practicality and function with this heater rather than visual appeal.back to menu ↑
Features & Extras
This heater is weatherproof rated IP65. The IP (ingress protection) level on this heater means that it is completely dust tight and offers complete protection from contact. It can withstand small water jets from all directions as well. This is a must on wall mounted heaters, as once you’ve installed the heater you don’t really want to bring it inside every time it rains!
When you purchase the Futura Deluxe you’ll also receive a handy remote control. Although the controller is simple, it makes it a lot easier to control the heat output and saves you having to climb up the wall to change the power settings, or turn it on and off.
It also comes with the wall mounting bracket and screws so you wont need to buy these separately.
We’re particularly enthralled by the 2 year guarantee provided by the manufacturers, most heaters come with 1 year guarantee at best. So you really get peace of mind when parting with your hard earned cash.back to menu ↑
We think this heater is more targeted towards the commercial market as the heat coverage is overkill for most home users, although you could run the heater on a lower setting, home users would be better off buying the 2000W edition which is £30 cheaper.
For the price, we absolutely adore this heater. There aren’t many wall mounted heaters in this price range that offer 8000+ BTUs and provide such a substantial level of heat coverage.
The manufacturers claim a running cost of 25p per hour. We’ve done the exact math below to see whether these claims are true!
Heater running costs:
Full Power (2500W) – 2.5kW x 1 hour = 2.5 kWh x 14.7p = 36.75p (per hour)
Medium Power (1600W) – 1.6kW x 1 hour = 1.6kWh x 14.7p = 23.52p (per hour)
Low Power (800W) – 0.8kW x 1 hour = 0.8kWh x 14.7p = 11.76p (per hour)
Assuming we were to use this heater for 2 hours a night every night.
On full power (2.5kW or 2500W) our monthly electric bill will be £22.05
On medium power (1.6kW or 1600W) our monthly electric bill will be £14.11
On low power (0.8kW or 800W) our monthly electric bill will be £7.06
We can’t say the claims are false as on mid power you will be spending just under 25p per hour to run this heater. They could have claimed a 11.7p running cost and still have been telling the truth.
As with all electric heaters, they will cost 2/3rds less than gas heaters, so you’ll be saving money from the outset.back to menu ↑

Supplied with remote, multiple temperature settings and a superior weatherproof rating. Great for commercial and residential users alike.
- Cheap To Run
- Realistically Priced
- 2 Year Guarantee
- Weatherproof (IP65)
- Great Heat Coverage (25m²)
- Short Power Cable
Let’s start with the positives. It’s cheap, it’s weatherproof, it’s easy to install and the fact that it comes with a remote control makes it very user friendly. The heat coverage is outstanding, especially for the cost of the heater. We’re big fans of this heater and with a 2 year guarantee you won’t have to worry if something were to go wrong!
The only arguable negative is the power cable length, at 1.5m long home users may struggle to find a nearby power socket and may have to install one. Commercial users most likely won’t have the same issue.
Overall, it’s a must buy from us!back to menu ↑
